Holger Junker and 'Wooly'

He is working with bringing the Stoneage to life for young and old in Germany.
During our stay in Lejre in 2007 he got a tattoo of his own logo of a Woolly Rhinoceros that was originally painted on a wall in the
cave of Rouffignac  in France about 30.000 years ago.

Wooly the rhinoceros was tattooed using a thorn from a hawthorn bush behind our tent.

On both sides of the rhino I tattooed three dots using a bone needle and a small flint stone. For colour, I mixed some ochre. It was an exciting experiment. Ochre has been known and used for many, many thousands of years.
