The tattoo style that we in the West know as "Tribal" is normally derived from the traditional designs of Borneo. They are simple, bold designs that look good on the body because they follow the flow of the body's lines (when done right).

A much better looking couple than this is difficult to imagine. From the Dayak people of Malaysia.

Though it may be difficult to see, both her lower arms are covered by very fine tattoo lines. All over his body are the traditional Borneo designs that has gone all around the world to form the basis of what the Western people call "tribal".
